Omar Abdel Samad is a co-founder of Beyond Group. He currently enables the Europe Hub in Berlin through Beyond Group’s subsidiary Kompetus.

Omar has extensive experience working with private, public, and non-profit institutions across the MENA region and the Gulf, on multiple thematic areas including local governance, economic development, and urban planning and policy development.

He brings in-depth expertise in policy design, stakeholder engagement processes and public management. Omar has over 15 years managing large-scale development projects with expertise in designing tailored and adapted programs, learning modules, and tools for enhancing the capacities of entities and individuals in public institutions, international organizations, and civil society. His experience extends to facilitating the design of innovative and sustainable solutions for organizational transformation, change management and capacity building initiatives targeting local and national governmental agencies and international development agencies.

More recently Omar catalyzes multiple projects on urban governance, as well as policy innovation with a focus on ESG and sustainability integration.

Omar is an urban planner and policy expert by training.
He holds B.S in Pharmacy from the Beirut Arab University and a Master’s Degree in Urban Planning and Policy from the American University of Beirut (AUB).
