Social Entrepreneurship Solution Brief
A mechanism for social and economic stability in lebanon
Lebanon’s socio-economic challenges could be transformed into opportunities if an innovative strategy is put in place that capitalizes on the country’s human capital, local assets and geographical location.
The SE-Momentum Mechanism focuses on transforming the role of localities so that they can become social entrepreneurship hubs that collaborate with stakeholders to facilitate job creation, social and civic engagement, and reduce social and economic risks at the local level. It is developed based on lessons learned from a project entitled “Mechanisms for Social Stability” that Beyond Group (previously Beyond Reform and Development) implemented in partnership with the UNDP Peace Building Project.
The SE-Momentum Mechanism aims at transforming municipalities and/or union of municipalities into social entrepreneurship incubators to become catalysts of a momentum that engages local citizens in finding innovative solutions to their social problems in a sustainable and scalable manner.
